The Atkins Diet

Phase 1 of the Atkins Diet

The first phase of the Atkins diet consists of roughly 20 gram of carbs per day. This phase is about 14 days long and will force your body to use the fat reserves to develop energy. !! Don’t forget to consider taking supplements, like Vitamin C, since Atkins tells you to avoid certain fruits and veggies!!

Phase 2 of the Atkins Diet 

Good news! Phase 2 is about taking 5 more grams of carbs per week. This procedure should be repeated until you start to gain weight again. Try to keep track of your amount of carbs as the point at which you start to gain weight again is you critical amount of carbs which you should not overcome. Phase 2 can last up to 8 weeks since the critical amount of carbs depends on your body.

Phase 3 of the Atkins Diet

Phase 3 is simple. Try to eat 10 more grams of carbs a week. This will have the natural effect that you will not lose as much weight as before, it will roughly be about 1/2 kilo.

Phase 4 of the Atkins Diet 

This phase describes our natural desire. To keep our weight. Try this by looking back on the last 3 phases and the amount of carbs you ate. Stay under your critical amount of carbs to keep your weight since this will show you the perfect amount of carbs that your metabolism can work with.
